Started in 1981 the Ethel M Chocolate Company has made this unique chocolate delight for everyone that loves chocolate.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Garden offer tours of their plant for those that want to witness the true talent and skill of the candy makers at work.  You will get to sample some gourmet treats and meander through the maze of paths at the Botanical Cactus Gardens at no charge.

The factory has a series of pipes, conveyer belts and tanks that hold between 20,000 and 35,000 gallons of chocolate.  Now that is a true chocolate lover’s paradise!  The story is (and it’s actually true) that when they refill the tanks with chocolate they have to latch the associates into belts to ensure that they don’t fall into the vats!!

Upon completing the tour of the factory you are free to roam around the lounge and sample chocolate.  Ethel’s Chocolate Lounge offers eclectic, gourmet chocolate in a trendy, chic atmosphere.  You will be stimulated not only by the chocolate but by the vibrant colored walls, dim lights and contemporary furnishings, a great place to escape the heat, relax and visit with friends.

The cactus garden is three acres of more than 300 different kinds of plants, including Teddy Bear Cholla, Texas Prickly Pear, Spotted Aloe and other cacti that most people never knew existed.
