So you think you like to ski, like the challenge of the slopes, like the wind in your face, the speed of the downhill, when you have accomplished this, what's next?  Heli-Skiing!!

Be taken to the peaks above 11,000 feet located in the high desert of the Great Basin between the Sierra Nevada to the west and the Wasatch mountains of Utah to the east.  Helicopter Skiing is something way beyond anything that you have probably ever experienced before.

Heli-Skiing is off-trail, downhill skiing that is reached by a helicopter.  Skiers are usually grouped together with others of their ability level whether advanced or expert.   Anyone that is going heli-skiing should be of an advanced to expert skiing ability, able to make good parallel turns.  With the advancement of powder and fat skis, powder skiing experience is not completely necessary.  This isn’t for the beginner or moderate ability skier.

There are a number of Heli-Skiing facilities in the West and Canada.  In Nevada we only saw one but there may be more.
