Acacia Demonstration Gardens - Henderson, Nevada

acacia garden.jpgAcacia Demonstration Gardens - Henderson, Nevada

Those that live in the desert often want to have a garden but don't know the manner to make a beautiful one with the lack of water and the high temperatures.  In Henderson the city and the Conservation District of Southern Nevada built a garden featuring a variety of drought-tolerant landscaping options on nearly 3 acres.  This is to show that even in the toughest of conditions you can be surrounded by beauty.

There are trails, kiosks and interpretive displays providing information about turf planting, xeriscape, irrigation systems and ways to conserve and avoid water waste.

Not only are there the gardens to see but they offer workshops about landscaping and conservation that can be applied to your own environment to beautify your home or office.

Take a trip through the gardens; ask questions, if you have time go to a workshop.
