Tonopah Historic Mining Park - Tonopah, Nevada
Take a tour of a mine; go underground at the Tonopah Historic Mining Park. Silver was found in Tonopah in 1900 starting a rush to the area, making it Queen of the Silver Camps.

Visit Two Museums - Hawthorne, Nevada
When you are going through the community of Hawthorne you should take a little time and stop in and go through the museums they have in the town. The first one is the Hawthorne Ordinance Museum which displays a large deal of ammunition from the years past. There will be the opportunity to learn of the long history of munitions. The museum is located at the corner of Ninth St and E Street in Hawthorne.

Ash Springs Rock Art Site - Caliente, Nevada
As with a great deal of the Great Basin rock art, Ash Springs Rock Art Site has petroglyphs, or rock art which is engraved, is the dominant form found at the site. These are etched onto rock faces by pecking, abrading, scratching or a combination of the techniques. All of them at Ash Springs are pecked and display a wide range of line widths. The weather and humans have had their destructive effect on the art, but they are still able to be enjoyed. Just don’t harm them, leave them for future generations to enjoy too.

Beaver Dam State Park - Caliente, Nevada
The first people to explore this area were the Indians, and then the Spaniards were here in the years between 1540 and 1775 while establishing trade routes in the Southwest. The Indians hunted, fished and camped in the area, the Spaniards probably did similar activities.
