While visiting the state of Nevada you have the unique opportunity to do some marvelous mountain hiking.  With 85% of the land of the state being public and the wide range of mountains available to climb this is truly a mountain hiker’s paradise.

Just 45 miles north of Las Vegas is Mount Charleston.  This mountain is a relief from the heat of the city and the air and peace is better too!  The mountain tops off at 11,918 ft.  This means that  you truly need to have good hiking equipment, shoes and so on, to go the whole distance!  There are restaurants and camping facilities between 5,000 and 7,000 ft so on your way up or on your way down you have a choice of places to rest and perhaps get something to eat.

Mount Charleston has three camping areas, stables, and a trail to the high, windswept slopes where bristlecone pines have lived for thousands of years. The chair lift sometimes runs in summer at Lee Canyon Ski Area. Kyle Canyon has the Mt. Charleston Hotel and the Mt. Charleston Lodge, both with restaurants, bars and lodging.

If you have questions or want more information about the mountain, conditions, weather and anything else you can contact the:
