As an individual who is nearly half Cherokee, I would like to point out that legends in the oral history of my Native American Ancestors tell of these giant people as well. But not every legend speaks of a hostile people. Most, but not all.

As far as posts hostile to any peoples goes, making such a post states hidden hostility, but so does responding to such a post. Having said that, allow me to say that one time when I felt somewhat ashamed of my Native American Heritage was when assorted tribes sought to take custody of the bones of Kennewick Man in an obvious attempt to prevent research on them. None of us are perfect it seems. Maybe someday we will lift the veil that currently hides ancient North American History? I hope so. We can start by paying more attention to the oral history of Native Americans. Not everything undocumented is myth.

I'm not an expert in the field, but I've seen some programs indicating that the last ice age all but eliminated humans from much of North America. Prior to this (buried deeper) spear heads have been found that match those from the "Clovis " people who lived in what is now France. This suggests that contact if not migrations between North America and Europe had taken place.

I agree with Thomas Kennedy. We can't be sure of what or who lived in America thousands of years ago. My wife is Te-Moak Shoshone and Piute, born in Elko Nevada and raised part of her life on the Reservation. She told me of the giants and how they came to be. Tamra and Kelly are very possibly correct. The men of renown were said to have taken to themselves wives from the daughters of men, and from what I understand, not just the daughters of men but of every type of creature on earth. I'm not sure that any of us will have all the answers until, God willing, we arrive at that Great City. There is also rumor that people with a negative blood type have descended from those giants. By the way, not only is my wife Native American, but she is also a natural red head. Kind of ironic huh?

It's interesting to see these "Giants" appearing across the North American landscape. The Lovelock Caves is a great discovery because of the surrounding archaeological finds such as Spirit Cave mummy and near Lovelock Cave is Humboldt dry lake bed where they found 2 giant human remains. It's great how the myth of the Paiute people became true, like how Troy was a myth before. There is this book called, "Life Among the Piutes" And it was published in 1883, well before the discovery of the artifacts in the caves describing the legend. http://www.amazon.com/Life-Among-Piutes-Their-Wrongs/dp/B000SI220K/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1312445932&sr=8-4
Also, when the Editor commented that, "And, to some it up: no, white people did not live here longer than Native people, or as you inaccurately claimed “asiatic amerindians”; try reading/studying Vine Deloria’s books. you just may learn something." I think that is kind of close-minded and not open to the fact that archaeology is an on-going open science that allows theories and opinions as long as you back it up with evidence and good arguments. But any theory could be easily turned around, and to say that no one was here before the Native American's (End Story) isn't open to the idea of other ways people could've done ancient migrations in the America's. I'm not trying to attack the editor at all, because I do agree with his or her comment towards the other response. Thanks.

In response to:

“So here we have absolute proof that whites lived here before asiatic amerindians, and that the indians genocided the whites. Remember that next time someone wants you as a white person to feel guilty for retaking North America by force. We were kinder to them than they ever were to us”

Re-think your answer there. Sounds like you are harboring a hatred of American Indians, and to say that murder is justified in any case; or in any time-period is insane. Think: just because they were described as white does not mean they were actually “white people”.

Be rational.

…and, yes, they may have been the children of gods, and Native people. As Navajo people we have many stories of giants and how they came about. Our stories are very much true – very much based on reality.

And, to some it up: no, white people did not live here longer than Native people, or as you inaccurately claimed “asiatic amerindians”; try reading/studying Vine Deloria’s books. you just may learn something.

tamra and kelly have hit on it - history is filled with stories, around the globe, of giants (people that stood anywhere from 7 to 12 feet tall.) Also in many of these tales the giants are described as having red hair. I imagine what you are seeing here is a now-extinct branch of the human line.

Steve, they are not "whites" but children conceived between the Watchers (fallen angels) and the daughters of men. See Genesis chapter 6, the lost book of Enoch, and the Book of Jubilees. They were well known to the Mediterranean and are what the Greeks called the gods (Zeus, Hermes, etc) and what the Bible calls "men of old, men of renown."
